Editing slides is harder than it should be

There are two usual ways to language-edit a presentation, and both are bad. Editing directly in PowerPoint means a corrected line reflows the layout and the deck stops looking like the one you built. Exporting the text to a flat file protects the layout but strips the context — the editor can no longer see which figure a caption belongs to, or which axis a label sits on.

A third option

We convert your deck into a Word review pack: every slide rendered as an image, beside its editable text. The editor works on the words with the slide in front of them. Terminology in a caption can be checked against the figure it actually describes.

• Slide images paired with editable text, in order
• Speaker notes included, so the spoken version stays consistent with the shown version
• Text that could not be confidently matched to its slide is flagged rather than guessed
• An audit record of what was matched, and with what confidence

Where it fits

Conference presentations, figure sets from a manuscript, thesis defence decks, seminar material. It works particularly well where the same terminology has to hold across a deck and the paper it came from.

Controlled pilot

This service is currently offered as a pilot with limited intake, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. It has been run end to end on live client work — engineering and medical figure decks — and it does what is described above.
