Who we are
Uni-edit (University English Editing and Translation Service) provides English academic editing, translation and publication support to researchers and institutions.

What this notice covers
This notice covers information collected through our websites — including when you request a quotation, ask a question, join a mailing list, or join a course waitlist. Work we carry out for clients under a service agreement is governed by that agreement.
What we collect
When you request a quotation or ask a question, we collect the name, email address and any other details you enter, together with any document you choose to upload.
When you join a mailing list, we collect the name, email address, organisation and interest details you enter, along with the date of your consent.
When you join a course waitlist, we collect the name, email address and the course you asked about.
When you visit the site, our hosting and analytics providers collect standard technical information such as IP address, browser type and pages visited.
Why we use it, and on what basis

- Technical site data — Why: To keep the site working and understand how it is used — Lawful basis: Our legitimate interest in operating the site
Documents you upload are not shared, and we delete them on request.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
Who processes it for us, and where
To provide the services above, we use cloud providers located in the United States for website hosting, form and document storage, email delivery, and website analytics. Each processes data on our behalf under its own contractual protections, and transfers outside your country are made on that basis.

How long we keep it
We keep quotation enquiries and any uploaded documents for as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards, and we delete documents on request.
We keep mailing-list and waitlist details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, and we review the lists periodically to remove contacts who are no longer engaged.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send, or by writing to privacy@uni-edit.net.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it. To exercise any of these, write to privacy@uni-edit.net and we will respond as promptly as we can.
If you are in the UK or the EU and you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you may complain to your national data protection authority.
Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary for the site to function, and analytics cookies that help us understand how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may not work as well if you do.
Changes
We will update this notice as our services develop, and we will change the date at the top when we do.
